Project

Carmen Beuchat PROJECT unfolds a set of visual, audiovisual and textual elements, highlighting the transdisciplinary work of Carmen Beuchat, with a particular emphasis on her choreographic and performance pieces created between the 60s and the early 90s.

This process begins with the recovery of both, material and immaterial traces related to her creative works, performing pieces, as well as the collaborations that have resulted from her relationship with artists such as Gordon Matta-Clark, Juan Downey, Robert Rauschenberg, Trisha Brown, Jean Dupuy, Kei Takei, Richard Nonas, Barbara Dilley, Suzanne Harris, Enrique Castro-Cid, Hisachika Takahashi, amongst many others.

Our main objectives are to systematize and to build a critical body about Carmen Beuchat’s work, thus opening a series of contingent questions and reinterpretations regarding art history from Chile and Latin America.
